Cal. 45-70. S# 12114. Bbl. 24". Ladder rear sight graduated to 1,000 yards. Blade front sight. Receiver marked on left wall with Winchester address and patent dates. Straight bolt handle. Rifle is equipped with safety and magazine cutoff button located on the right side above the trigger. Cutoff and safety do not operate correctly. Rifle may not stay cocked, gunsmith attention recommended. Walnut stock with one barrel band retained by spring. Saddle ring located on left side above trigger guard. CONDITION: stock has a vintage professional refinish with a slight loss of wood in inletted areas. Extensive crack around top of grip on both sides with attempted pinned repair. 80% of its original blue finish with thinning and light wear. One rear sight screw is not present. Bore has slight frosting and notable shallow pitting which is most prominent near the muzzle. Lands are lightly worn. (01-28858/RW). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
